At the request of our clients CUT UK  built mockup plies reflecting the ‘as-built’ drawing of the target material. The mock-up pile was then put under a compressive load and remained in compression for the duration of the cut test.

Two compressive load tests were performed on a 940mm OD X 32 mm wt under a 400 Tonne load and a 1422mm  OD X 70mm wt c/w 1067mm OD X 70mm wt inside. This was cut in a single pass. Conclusion: DWCM do not require ‘wedges’ while cutting under constant load.
